edge dev android extensions

We wrote about recently added extension support for Edge Cannary on Android. The feature is now available in the Dev channel as well, so more users will have the chance to try it out.

This isn’t the only available feature, so let’s dive deeper and see what this version has to offer.

Edge Dev 123.0.2380 has been released, here’s what’s new

After the announcement on Microsoft Tech Community that a new version is coming on the Dev channel, we had to test it for ourselves and check if extension support is available.

This is nothing new, and it was available on Canary, just like before, you need to go to the flags page and manually enable it.

The list of supported extensions is still as limited as before, but it’s great to see that this feature is available to a greater audience.

Of course, this update brings many long-awaited changes and we’re going to briefly list the most important ones:

  • Added support for Content Security Policy.
  • Fixed crashing issues in favorites hub or when adding a new account.
  • The problem with the More tools menu not responding has been fixed.
  • Various problems with Copilot have been addressed.
  • The problem with the font dialog not reflecting using the right font is fixed.
  • Issues with background images on the new tab page have been addressed as well.

These are just some of the new features and bug fixes, and for a detailed report, we suggest reading the official announcement post from Microsoft.

The highlight of this update is the extension support, and if you don’t want to try the Canary version due to stability issues, you can go ahead and give the Dev version a try.

Edge is more popular than ever, and extension support will help make Edge stand out from other Android browsers on the market, so we can’t wait to see this feature in the stable version.
