Valve’s Steam Deck has quietly gone out of stock across multiple regions. Late last week, users started noticing an “Out of stock” label on the official Steam store page in the United States. All three listed models, including the 256GB LCD, 512GB OLED, and 1TB OLED variants, are currently unavailable. The only option for interested buyers is to add the device to a wishlist.

As you may know, Valve has already ended production of the 256GB LCD model, meaning only the OLED versions are expected to return once inventory is replenished. However, there is no confirmed timeline for when that will happen.

With component pricing rising sharply due to ongoing AI-driven demand for memory and related hardware, some believe that the Steam Deck is the latest device to feel the pressure. Valve previously acknowledged that increased component costs delayed its upcoming Steam Machine launch, with analysts now pointing toward a first-half 2026 release at a higher price than initially expected.

Although it’s unclear that memory constraints are behind the Steam Deck shortage, the concern is still there. For the uninitiated, Valve’s hardware division operates at a smaller scale compared to companies such as ASUS and Lenovo, which may complicate component sourcing at competitive pricing.

For now, it remains unclear whether this is a temporary production hiccup or an early sign of widespread hardware shortage in 2026.
