1. Restart the VDS service
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type services.msc and press Enter to open Services.
- Go to Virtual Disk, right-click, and select Restart.
2. Check if the disk is online
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter to open Disk Management.
- Locate the disk in question and right-click it to select Offline.
- Wait for a few seconds, and now turn it back to Online.
- If the disk still gives you the error, right-click the disk and select the Initialize Disk option.
3. Run the CHKDSK command
- Press Windows + X to open the context menu, and select Disk Management.
- Go to the disk or volume, right-click it, and select Properties.
- On the Properties window, go to the Tools tab.
- Under Error checking, select Check.
- Click Scan drive on the next window.
- Now the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
4. Use the Command Prompt
- Press the Windows key, type CMD, and click Run as administrator.
- Type the following command and press Enter:
Diskpart
- Copy and paste the following command to scan newly added disks and press Enter:
rescan
- Type the following command and press Enter:
list disk
- To select a disk, type the following command and replace X with the disk number, and press Enter:
Select disk X
- Copy and paste the following commands one by one and press Enter:
clean
create partition primary
format fs=ntfs quick
- Once the format is complete, type the following command to assign the drive letter and replace X with the letter you want to assign :
assign letter = X
5. Use a third-party tool
