whatsapp windows unknown number chat

WhatsApp for Windows users will be able to start chats with unknown numbers, reports WABetaInfo, in a recent announcement. A limited number of beta users received the update after installing the WhatsApp beta for the Windows 2.2342.6.0 update package.

The feature will allow users to open up a new panel where they can start a new chat with a number that is not on their contact list.

It’s good to notice that users can already do it on their Android or iOS devices, but now Whatsapp is making it possible for Windows users to have a go at the option, as well.

It could easily facilitate communication everywhere, especially when it’s more suitable to call someone from a desktop device, rather than a phone. The update also is an important feature for WhatsApp for Windows, since the version doesn’t get new features often.

For example, earlier this year, WhatsApp for Windows got a share screen feature that made it possible for people to use the platform for professional meetings as well.

How to start a chat with an unknown number on WhatsApp for Windows

After making sure you update your WhatsApp for Windows to the latest version, clicking on the New Chat button should offer you a new option, Phone Number.

Clicking on the Phone Number option would pop up a special panel that will ask you to type in the number that is not in your contacts and you want to start a chat.whatsapp windows unknown number chat

When you finish typing the number, you should be able to start the chat with that number.

The chat should start normally, as with any other WhatsApp chat, and you’ll be able to have all the features of a regular WhatsApp for Windows chat.

For now, this new option is available to a limited number of testers within the Beta Channel. This means that the option to start a chat with an unknown number will most likely be released on WhatsApp for Windows in November.
