Microsoft has rolled out the Windows 10 March Patch Tuesday update, KB5078885, bumping systems to builds 19045.7058 and 19044.7058 for those enrolled in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. The update comes alongside the Windows 11 March Patch Tuesday update, KB5079473, which improves File Explorer and more.

As part of this month’s Patch Tuesday update, the Windows System Image Manager now includes a warning dialog, which helps users confirm that selected catalog files come from trusted sources. As mentioned earlier, Microsoft has also improved File History in the Control Panel. It now allows backing up new files with names containing certain Chinese and Private Use Area characters.

Moving on, graphics stability has also been enhanced to address issues affecting specific GPU configurations. As with Windows 11, Microsoft is carefully continuing to roll out Secure Boot certificates. Windows quality updates now include high-confidence device targeting data, expanding coverage of devices eligible to receive new certificates.

Just to be clear, devices only receive these certificates after demonstrating successful update signals, ensuring a controlled, phased rollout. Servers are unlikely to qualify due to limited data, though they are not explicitly excluded. All that said, the good news is that Microsoft reports no known bugs or issues with this security patch.
