Microsoft has rolled out Windows 11 Canary Build 27871 to Insiders, and while it’s not packed with big features, it brings a few meaningful updates for both IT admins and everyday users.

For organizations managing devices with Microsoft Intune, there’s now more control over energy usage. The new build lets IT teams configure Energy Saver settings through the Local Group Policy Editor or directly in the Intune Admin Center.

Once enabled, Energy Saver reduces screen brightness and limits background activity to help save power, without killing performance. It’s a quiet but useful addition for enterprise environments where efficiency matters.

This build also introduces Phone Link improvements previously available in the Dev and Beta channels. Notifications from Android devices now appear neatly grouped within the Start menu’s Phone Link panel, and screen mirroring can be activated with just one click.

iPhone users aren’t left out either. Photo memories are now supported within the app, giving iOS and Windows users a bit more visual continuity.

Microsoft also adjusted how app notifications appear. The “needy state pill,” that small label that signals when an app wants attention, is now slightly bigger and more noticeable.
