Windows 11 Canary build 27868 rolls out with new Voice Access update
The build also includes important bug fixes
Windows Insiders on the Canary Channel are getting a fresh preview today with build 27868. As usual, these Windows 11 Canary releases are more about quiet updates than new features, but there’s still something worth noting about the voice access feature.
Windows 11’s Voice Access gets a helpful in-app upgrade with the Canary build 27868
The highlight this time is a small but helpful upgrade to Voice Access. Microsoft added a new in-app experience that makes it easier to explore what Voice Access can do. Users will now get quick access to its latest features, including expanded language support and improved speech recognition. It’s tucked into the settings menu and can be dismissed at any time.

This build also fixes a pen input bug that was breaking inking on some PCs. Another issue that blocked apps like Spotify from launching or installing via the Microsoft Store has also been resolved.
But not everything is smooth. If you use VMware or similar virtualization tools, they may fail to run now when Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) is enabled. Microsoft says the workaround is to manually enable the “Windows Hypervisor Platform” in optional features—something that used to work automatically.
No new builds have dropped yet for the Dev or Beta channels this week. That said, May’s optional updates for Windows 11 24H2, 23H2, and 22H2 are now live outside the Insider program.
