Microsoft has released the latest Windows 11 Release Preview update, KB5077241, that bumps systems on version 24H2 and 25H2 Builds 26100.7918 and 26200.7918, respectively. As part of this update, Microsoft is rolling out Emoji 16.0 support, built-in network test speed to taskbar, and a lot more.

KB5077241 brings File Explorer improvements

File Explorer has received notable improvements in this update. A new “Extract All” option now appears on the command bar when browsing non-ZIP archive folders, making it easier to handle compressed files without extra clicks.

Additionally, a long-standing issue where holding Shift and clicking the File Explorer icon on the taskbar, or middle-clicking it, opened the current instance instead of a new one has been fixed. You will also notice improved reliability when displaying devices on the Network page, helping ensure networked devices appear consistently.

Display and Sleep Performance

Display performance has also been optimized in KB5077241. Microsoft focused on reducing resume-from-sleep times on heavily loaded systems, which can make waking from sleep faster and smoother for power users. Laptop users who connect to a docking station while keeping the lid closed will benefit from more reliable sleep resume when switching to AC power, without needing to physically open the device.

Other Visual and System Fixes

The update also addresses minor visual and interface issues across Windows. Fixes include scenarios with an autohide taskbar, improved handling of Windows Security pop-up credential fields, and smoother performance with the print dialog.
