KB5077230 Adds Peripheral Fingerprint Support for Enhanced Windows Hello Sign-In Security & More

A new build, 28020.1619, is available for Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel under KB5077230. While this build focuses on features like Cross-Device Resume and Narrator, voice and authentication tools have also gotten attention.

First up, Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-In Security now supports peripheral fingerprint sensors. Previously limited to built-in biometric readers, users can now plug in compatible sensors and set them up via Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options.

Voice Typing, meanwhile, adds a new “Wait time before acting” setting. It gives flexibility for users with varying speech speeds. Commands can now be recognized instantly or with a small delay to improve accuracy.

Meanwhile, Voice Access introduces a streamlined setup, which helps users select the right speech model and microphone while highlighting PC capabilities. Not to forget, Microsoft has also expanded Settings Agent languages. English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, Italian, and Simplified Chinese are now supported. Moreover, the same update has also introduced freeform rotate feature to Windows 11 Paint app and updated SCOOBE screen.
