Battlefield 6 is opening the battlefield to everyone for one week. The free trial runs from August 18 through August 25, bringing the new Top Gun event alongside multiple modes and four maps. It’s worth noting that no purchase is required to jump in. Players can download Battlefield REDSEC and access the trial directly.

A packed week of Battlefield 6 gameplay

The trial offers several ways to play, including Conquest, Breakthrough, Escalation, and Casual Breakthrough. Top Gun: Carrier Strike is also joining the lineup as the headline limited-time mode. The available maps include Wake Island, Tsuru Reef, Cairo Bazaar, and Hagental Base. Players can therefore move between large-scale battles and more tactical encounters during the trial.

Three playlists are available across the event. All-Out Warfare focuses on Battlefield’s traditional combat, while Casual Breakthrough offers a more relaxed option for newer players. Players can also keep the unlocks earned during the trial. Once the event ends, they can continue playing REDSEC for free.

Top Gun brings fighter jets into the fight

The biggest addition is the new Top Gun event. Carrier Strike puts players into aerial and naval combat, with new two-seat fighter jets adding another layer to battles. The event also introduces Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep. The mode challenges pilots to prove their skills while fighting through an aerial-focused scenario.
