Googlebook Could Launch With Snapdragon X Plus & X Elite Chips, Fresh Leak Suggests

As expected, Googlebook is starting to look like more than an Intel-focused laptop platform. While Intel confirmed its partnership with Google on Googlebook at the time of original announcement, a new leak points towards several Snapdragon-powered designs, suggesting Google’s upcoming Gemini laptops will cover ARM platform too.

Snapdragon X Plus appears across multiple Googlebook designs

Folks over at GbookHub, which dug through code references linking Annite and Pic directly with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 processor (via VideoCardz). Both designs appear connected to Google’s Mica board platform.

The code reportedly shows motherboard clock speeds reduced from 100MHz to 75MHz. It also references fingerprint and a lack of USB-A connectivity on these specific designs. That chip is Qualcomm’s eight-core Snapdragon X Plus model. It runs at up to 3.4GHz and targets more affordable ARM laptops.

Other phrases in the code strings such as Quartz and Mica are reportedly related to Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100 chip, according to GbookHub’s findings.

Googlebook is shaping up as a multi-chip platform

This matters because Google has never positioned Googlebook as an Intel-only project. Earlier reports have confirmed that Googlebook could also support Qualcomm, and MediaTek, potentially covering both x86 and ARM designs.

Google has already confirmed Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo as launch partners. In fact, Lenovo’s Googlebook 15 and ASUS’ Googlebook leaked a few days back, though specifications aren’t out yet. As far as availability is concerned, the first Googlebook laptops are expected later this fall, with possible showcase at IFA 2026.
