Take-Two Stock Takes a Hit as GTA 6 Leak Situation Keeps Getting Worse
Ever wondered what a major leak could do to the company behind the game? Take-Two’s shares have fallen during the latest GTA 6 leak storm, but blaming the entire decline on Rockstar would be premature.
Take-Two stock price falls as GTA 6 leaks continue to surface online
Take-Two shares traded around $248.13 on August 18, before the latest leak wave spread online. They later fell toward the $232-$237 range, depending on the trading point. That represents a sizeable short-term decline. One estimate puts the lost market value at roughly $2.8 billion, while another measures the single-day loss closer to $1 billion.
However, the timing alone does not prove GTA 6 caused the entire move. Market conditions can move Take-Two shares independently, and investors may react to several factors simultaneously.
The distinction matters because Take-Two recently reported unprecedented GTA 6 preorder demand. The company has also maintained its November 19 launch target.
CyberLeek keeps the GTA 6 leak situation alive
The stock movement arrives as CyberLeek continues releasing alleged GTA 6 material. New footage reportedly suggests the group may have access to an actual playable build.
Take-Two and Rockstar have been issuing copyright takedowns against leaked videos. Neither company has publicly confirmed CyberLeek’s claims or explained the source of the footage.
CyberLeek has also attached consumer-focused demands to its campaign. Those include opposing digital preorders and preserving offline access for single-player games.
The group has simultaneously promoted cryptocurrency, which has triggered skepticism around its motives.
GTA 6 remains Take-Two’s biggest upcoming bet
Take-Two priced GTA 6 at $79.99 and still plans to launch it on November 19.
For now, the stock reaction looks significant but not necessarily catastrophic. Whether the leak creates lasting investor concern may depend on what surfaces next.
