AGON Q27G4ZD Monitor Brings 3rd-Gen QD-OLED and 280Hz Gaming to a Lower Price
After budget-focused models like Dell’s recent 240Hz IPS displays, AGON by AOC is targeting gamers who want premium OLED performance without flagship pricing. The company has officially introduced a new 27-inch QD-OLED monitor built for high-refresh competitive play.
AOC GAMING Q27G4ZD is a 3rd-gen QD-OLED with 280Hz refresh rate
According to TechPowerUp, AGON by AOC has unveiled the AOC GAMING Q27G4ZD, a 27-inch QHD (2560×1440) gaming monitor powered by third-generation QD-OLED technology.
The panel supports a 280 Hz refresh rate and an ultra-fast 0.03 ms gray-to-gray response time, positioning it as a strong option for esports and high-FPS gaming. It sits between the 240 Hz Q27G4ZDR and the 360 Hz Q27G4SDR in AOC’s lineup, offering a middle ground in both performance and pricing.
QD-OLED technology combines OLED’s self-emissive pixels with Quantum Dot color enhancement. The result is near-instant response times, true blacks, infinite contrast, and vibrant color reproduction.
DisplayHDR True Black 400 and up to 1000 nits peak brightness
The Q27G4ZD carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and can reach up to 1000 nits of peak brightness at 3% APL. The third-generation panel improves peak brightness compared to earlier OLED generations, helping HDR highlights appear more impactful.
The QHD resolution balances visual sharpness with manageable GPU requirements, making it easier to sustain high frame rates at 280 Hz compared to 4K panels.
Adaptive-Sync support and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible certification aim to reduce screen tearing and stutter during fast-paced gameplay.
HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and full ergonomics
Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4, supporting modern graphics cards and current-generation consoles. A built-in USB hub adds four USB-A ports for connecting peripherals directly to the monitor.
The stand offers full ergonomic adjustments, including height, tilt, swivel, and pivot. Users can also rely on VESA 100×100 mounting support for custom setups or monitor arms.
To address concerns around OLED longevity, the display integrates OLED Care features designed to mitigate burn-in risks. AOC backs the monitor with a three-year warranty that also covers OLED burn-in under proper usage guidelines.
Pricing and availability
The AOC GAMING Q27G4ZD is scheduled to launch in February 2026 with an MSRP of £419.99. The pricing places it below many AGON PRO flagship OLED models, while still offering next-generation panel technology and competitive refresh rates.
