configure Opera GX presets

With the latest update, you can customize Opera GX in any way, almost down to pixel level. Therefore, you can have your own presets with different mods, shaders, sounds, themes, effects and a lot more. So, here’s how you can truly make Opera GX your own by creating and saving your preset.

How can I configure presets in Opera GX?

  1. Click on the menu button from the top-right corner and click on Show all from the Presets section.
  2. Now, first, you can change the logo image by hovering your mouse cursor over it and clicking on the Remove image button.
  3. Now, you can click on the same button again to insert another image instead.
  4. Next, click on the Store button to install the Mods you want.
  5. We have a detailed guide to get and install Mods on Opera GX. The mods often contain themes, sounds, effects, shaders and more.
  6. Next, click on Effects to select some visual effects for the browser.
  7. In the next window, you can change the Shaders that are very useful if you want to protect your eyes against excessive brightness, contrast, or blue light during the browsing sessions.
  8. We also have a guide on how to change the Shaders in Opera GX if you need more information.
  9. You may also click on Speed dial effects to change those too.
  10. Hit the back button, then click on the Interface button.
  11. Here, based on the Mods you installed, you will be able to change all the interface elements, including the theme, wallpaper, app icon, stickers, fonts, icons and even the splash screen.
  12. Some Mods come with their own splash screen instead of the Opera GX generic one. However, you may also remove the Opera GX splash screen.
  13. Hit the back button after making the changes and click the Sounds button. Here you can customize the background music, the keyboard sounds and the browser sounds.
  14. Finally, click the back button and click on the Save preset button from the center.
  15. You can create multiple presets and select them at any moment from this menu based on your mood or needs.

As you can see, there are a lot of things to configure in Opera GX, and these are only the basic presets. There are many other elements that you can configure in the Opera GX settings such as menus, how they show up, colors, and a lot more.

Now you know how to configure presets in Opera GX and how to manage them. Of course, you can also install more mods, delete them or configure their settings as you please.
