ERROR_FLOPPY_VOLUME comes with the following message: 584 (0x248) The paging file cannot be created on a floppy diskette. It occurs when you try to save a paging file on a floppy disk, and in today’s guide, we’re going to show you how to fix this.

ERROR_FLOPPY_VOLUME isn’t a common error, especially since floppy drives aren’t used anymore, and you’ll likely encounter it while using virtual machines.

If you’re using a virtual machine, check your configuration and remove the floppy drive so it doesn’t interfere with your configuration.

While floppy drives aren’t used anymore, you can still encounter errors such as ERROR_FLOPPY_UNKNOWN_ERROR or FLOPPY_INTERNAL_ERROR, but we have separate guides addressing these issues.
