Just yesterday, Mozilla released Firefox version 139 with multiple changes like custom wallpapers and link previews. Today, the company has released Firefox 140 beta update, which brings a bunch of new features for you to test.
In Firefox beta version 140, you can choose your own custom search engines. If you prefer something outside the usual options, like Ecosia or other regular search engines. You can right-click on a supported website’s search field and choose “Add Search Engine,” or head to Settings > Search > Add to enter one manually.

That’s not all; Firefox now lets you remove the Extensions button from your toolbar entirely with the 140 beta update. Not to forget, you can still access your add-ons from the main menu if you change your mind. It’s a small change, but it adds to the growing flexibility Firefox is offering.
On the performance side, you’ll also find a new option called “Unload Tab” in the Firefox 140 beta update. You can now right-click any open tab and unload it if it’s hogging memory. The feature is great for freeing up some RAM on the go.

For those who use vertical tabs, there’s a visual improvement too. You can drag the divider to keep more pinned tabs visible. Firefox 140 beta update is available now if you want to give these updates a try. You can grab it directly from Mozilla’s official site.
