Gaming Copilot is Reportedly Coming to Xbox Series X|S "Later This Year"
It was back in March 2025, when Microsoft first announced Gaming Copilot. As the name suggests, it is an assistant that guides players, suggests strategies, and offers personalized gameplay tips. For now, Gaming Copilot is available in Windows 11 via Xbox Game Bar. Now, the feature, which Microsoft described as your “ultimate gaming sidekick,” appears to be heading towards current Xbox consoles.
The news comes via GamesRadar+, which reports that, at GDC 2026, Microsoft confirmed that Gaming Copilot will make its way to current-generation Xbox consoles (via Insider Gaming). The confirmation reportedly came from Xbox Gaming AI partner group product manager Sonali Yadav, who said that the AI assistant is expected to arrive later this year for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
“I’m excited to announce that later this year, we will bring Gaming Copilot to the current-generation consoles, and we will continue to bring it to more services that players are playing,” Yadav noted.
The AI assistant is designed to function as an in-game helper that adapts to a player’s habits and preferences. Microsoft says Gaming Copilot can analyze the games players are currently playing, along with their past gaming activity. Based on that data, it can recommend new titles, suggest strategies, and help players overcome difficult sections.
Players can also directly ask the assistant for help. Gaming Copilot can provide gameplay tips, brainstorm tactics, and offer personalized coaching depending on the situation. There is even a voice conversation feature, allowing players to interact with the AI assistant more naturally while playing.
That being said, some details remain unclear. Microsoft has not yet confirmed an exact release window beyond “later this year.” Besides, it is still unclear how deeply the AI assistant will integrate with console gameplay. Speaking of AI features, let’s not forget that Microsoft has confirmed that Auto SR preview will launch on ROG Xbox Ally X this April.
