1. Restart Windows Installer Service

1. Press the Win + I buttons to open the Run dialogue.
2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
3. Locate Windows Installer service.
4. Double-click to open it.
5. Under Service status, select Start.

You should make sure that the Windows Installer service is running to run the Java installation. Follow the above steps and start the service in case it is stopped.

2. Download Java offline installer

1. Remove all instances of Java from your PC.
2. Visit the official Java website.
3. Download the offline installer.
4. Right-click on the downloaded EXE file and select Run as administrator.
5. Install the program.
6. Restart your PC and check if this fixes the error or not.

3. Disable antivirus

1. Open the Start menu.
2. Open Windows Defender Firewall.
3. Click on Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off.
4. Select Turn off Windows Defender Firewall options for both Private and Public network settings.

Your Defender Firewall might be blocking Java installation because of aggressive settings, which is why you are getting the Java error code 1618.

4. Install the latest Windows update

5. Clean boot your PC

6. Install Java in a new folder

1. Launch the Java installer file.

4. Choose a location, most probably C Drive.
