Lenovo Reportedly Updating Legion Go Handhelds With Xbox Full Screen Experience Optimizations

Microsoft’s new Xbox Full Screen Experience (FSE) is making its way to handheld gaming PCs, but not all devices will see it at the same time. Back in September, Lenovo confirmed that Legion Go 2 would receive the support later in 2026.

Now, it seems the company decided to give some sort of New Year gift to the fans, as reports are coming in that a new update to Legion Space is now rolling out to Lenovo Legion Go devices, which is adding better support for the Xbox Full Screen Experience. For the uninitiated, that’s the the same console-like interface Microsoft first highlighted on the Xbox Ally.

According to a Reddit post spotted by folks at Windows Central, the latest update bumps Legion Space to version 1.3.4.9 and it ocuses on making Windows feel more natural on handheld hardware. Once the update is installed, the Legion Go users get smoother performance behavior, more intuitive controls, and deeper integration with the Xbox Game Bar when Xbox Full Screen Experience is enabled.

Lenovo has reportedly also added a new quick toggle for Xbox Full Screen Experience inside Legion Space. There’s also a dedicated Legion Space widget within the Xbox Game Bar. From there, players can quickly adjust performance modes, RGB lighting, vibration intensity, and other system settings without hampering gameplay experience.

Per the report, the update has also improved the input behavior. A short press of the Legion R button still opens Legion Space. However, a long press now open up the Windows Task Switcher, which mirrors the familiar Win + Tab shortcut. Behind the scenes, when you enable the Xbox Full Screen Experience, it now marks the device as a “handheld” in Windows. In other words, it helps the system allocate resources more efficiently.

It’s worth noting that this update doesn’t automatically turn on Xbox Full Screen Experience. Players will still need to enable it manually through Windows Settings, where the feature began rolling out to gaming handhelds last month.

The update is repprtedly being rolled out gradually for users with the original Legion Go, Legion Go S, and the newer Legion Go 2. With Microsoft already teasing bigger plans for Xbox Full Screen Experience in 2026, Lenovo’s latest move suggests handheld gaming on Windows is only getting started.
