Google has been testing a feature similar to Edge’s Split Screen in Chrome for a while now. Recently, they made the “Split View” flag available in Canary for users to open two tabs in a Split View, which is useful for comparing two pages.

Once you enable the flag, you can notice the “Arrange Split View” option in the context menu and a button on the toolbar to quickly access the feature. Chrome allows you to reverse tabs in the View as well as separate them into individual tabs from Split View. Chrome also offers a “Swap with Current View” option.

Another important addition to Chrome’s Split View—like Edge, Chrome in Canary lets you open a link in Split View. Right-click on a link and select “Open link in Split View”, and Chrome will do the rest.

Apart from this, Chrome may soon prompt users to install extensions from the Chrome Web Store if no extensions are installed. Additionally, Chrome’s new Infinite Tabs Freezing feature may improve browser speed, and the browser could use AI to minimize geolocation notification requests from websites.
