Microsoft Confirms New Teams Performance Issues in Asia-Pacific

Microsoft has confirmed that some Microsoft 365 services are experiencing problems again, with the latest incident mainly affecting Microsoft Teams users in the Asia-Pacific region.

According to the company, affected users may notice that Teams feels slower than normal or less responsive during use. The issue appears to impact overall service performance rather than a complete outage.

Microsoft investigates Teams slowdown

Microsoft says it is currently investigating the problem and has already started deploying a fix in an attempt to restore normal service levels.

While the company has not shared the exact cause of the incident yet, admins can follow updates through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center under tracking ID TM1314397.

At the moment, Microsoft’s public Microsoft 365 Service Health Status page has not listed the incident, which means the issue is currently being communicated mainly through the admin portal.

Microsoft has not said how many users are affected by the incident, but the company specifically confirmed that the Asia-Pacific region is currently impacted.

Microsoft continues changing Teams features

The incident also comes during a broader transition period for Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft is currently removing Together Mode from Teams as part of ongoing interface and feature changes. The company has also been working on improving performance and consistency across the platform.

Recently, Microsoft announced faster Office file previews for Teams, aiming to make Word, Excel, and PowerPoint previews load more quickly and behave more consistently across devices.

At the same time, Microsoft Teams continues attracting attention from cybercriminals.

Security researchers recently warned that attackers are abusing Teams chats and messages to spread ModeloRAT malware through social engineering campaigns. These attacks attempt to trick users into opening malicious content or granting attackers access to systems and accounts.

The combination of service reliability issues, platform changes, and ongoing security threats keeps Teams under close scrutiny as Microsoft continues expanding the service across enterprise and consumer environments.
