When Microsoft released Windows 11 24H2 in October, the major patch caused the popular Asphalt 8 game to crash when users played it or exited it, requiring them to restart the game if they wanted to play it again.
Like many other issues on Windows 11 24H2 back then, this one was incredibly frustrating for Windows users. As a temporary solution, Microsoft applied a compatibility hold on devices using Asphalt 8.
This meant devices wouldn’t be offered to install Windows 11, version 24H2, via the Windows Update setting, and the Redmond-based tech giant actually advised users not to try to install the patch manually.
Fortunately, Microsoft said it has effectively fixed the issue, and now Windows users can safely play Asphalt 8 on Windows 11 24H2.
According to the Windows Release Health dashboard, the Windows 11 24H2 update will be offered in Windows Update in about 48 hours.
The patch can now be safely installed.
