Microsoft announced that it will deprecate the Search in Bing capability, the work search experience currently available on Bing.com, by the end of this month, March 31, 2025.
According to the announcement, which was unveiled in Version 134.0.3124.51’s release notes blog post, the Redmond-based tech giant will retire the AddressBarMicrosoftSearchInBingProviderEnabled policy, which will no longer be available in the Edge for Business address bar.
Instead, Microsoft will introduce the AddressBarWorkSearchResultsEnabled policy, which is set to replace the deprecated one and will be available starting with Edge 134.
Edge 134 also introduces the new scareware blocker policy. This policy should make the browser safer for users by defending them from scareware attacks. Microsoft says the new tool is already in preview and can be enabled by using a special policy, ScarewareBlockerProtectionEnabled.
Elsewhere, an update was made so that specific certificates (from Entrust) will no longer be trusted by default if issued after April 16, 2025. If your website uses one of these certificates, you need to get a new certificate that is not affected by this change. Alternatively, you can manually mark the affected certificate as trusted on your system, but you should carefully consider the risks before doing this.
