It seems Microsoft Teams is getting another feature for its Enterprises version. You will be able to use a Notes tab in Teams. The feature is rolling, and you should be able to enjoy it now.
It’s an excellent week for Teams users out there. The app got another feature, for teachers and educators, that uses AI to generate passages and comprehension questions. Plus, it seems that the app will be able to soon convert any file to PDF, via Microsoft Graph. So it’s safe to say, Teams is getting a lot of love from Microsoft.
This new Notes tab is powered by OneNote, and will be added by default on new channels that are created. Its purpose, according to Microsoft, is to enable a rich notetaking experience. However, you should know that this feature will only be available to standard channels. For the private or shared channels, you’ll have to wait until Microsoft implements the feature on them too.
So, while there is nothing you should do to enable the notes, we can show you to use them in Teams. It’s a rather exciting feature, for when you need to drop down some info.
Here’s how to use the Default Notes Tab in Teams for Enterprises
- Open Microsoft Teams and go to any standard channels of your organization.
- Once you’re there, you can see a new option, Notes.
- Click on it, and a new pane will open.
- Here you can take notes, you can customize them, you can edit them. It’s pretty much similar to using OneNote.
Since it’s powered by OneNote, working with notes on Teams will be similar. You’ll be able to:
- Maintain an easy collaboration on OneNote pages across the team with co-edit and page-level conversation.
- All channel notes are organized within a single OneNote notebook, making them easier to find.
- Richer OneNote editing with typing, ink annotations, highlighting, file attachments, etc.
- Easy recall and search for channel notes within OneNote on any platform.
- Access your notes from anywhere, even outside Teams on OneNote.
