Microsoft is going to enhance Teams Rooms on Windows with facial recognition technology and Cloud IntelliFrame capabilities.
According to the entry where we spotted the enhancement, this innovation aims to create a more seamless connection between in-person and remote participants. In other words, it will be available in hybrid meetings.
It will be available exclusively with Teams Rooms Pro, which allows organizations to enable facial recognition through their policies. Once activated and with user profiles enrolled via Teams settings, Teams Rooms can identify individuals, automatically listing them in the meeting roster.
In addition, the Cloud IntelliFrame feature optimizes camera views, ensuring every participant is displayed in the best possible manner. This helps make hybrid meetings feel more immersive—almost like everyone is in the same room together.
Here’s what the entry says:
If facial recognition is enabled in organization policies and you’ve enrolled your profile via Teams Settings, Teams Rooms on Windows using Cloud IntelliFrame will recognize you, list you in the meeting roster, and optimize camera views for participants making hybrid meetings feel like you are all in the room together. This feature available with Teams Rooms Pro.
Microsoft will release the enhancement to Teams Rooms Pro in June 2025, and it will be generally available to all users.
