Link Preview extension on Microsoft Edge

This Extension adds a Chrome-like Link Preview feature to Microsoft Edge. You can open the Link Previews with the Alt + Click shortcut or by long pressing, just like in Chrome.

We recently reported that Chrome has added a feature to preview links before you navigate. It is currently available behind a flag that you need to enable manually in the Chrome prerelease versions. The option is available in the right-click menu and Chrome also offers an Alt + click shortcut to trigger it. Furthermore, Until now, this was a Chrome-only feature, not available in Edge even in flag form.

We now have an extension available in the Edge add-ons Store that replicates or mimics Chrome behavior and offers the same Alt + Click shortcut or Long Press to preview a link.

When you hover over preview content, the Preview dialog page content appears in the window. We tested this extension in Edge Stable, and it works beautifully, as you can see in the clip below.

Note: The extension is pretty new and has no reviews. Please be careful before installing this extension and proceed at your own risk.

The developer advertised its new Link Preview extension on Reddit and the post already has a lot of favorable comments and upvotes. That’s a clear sign that Edge users really expected this feature. If it gains more traction, Microsoft might think of adding it to the browser directly.
