OneDrive edit PDF

Microsoft is enhancing OneDrive to make it easier to edit PDF files. According to the most recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant will add a new annotation layout and tools for PDF editing.

The new PDF annotation layout has been designed to be more user-friendly. Previously, you might have searched different menus to find the tools needed to add notes or comments to your PDF files. These annotation tools are now conveniently placed in a single row at the top of the screen. This means you can quickly access and use them without any hassle.

Additionally, there’s a new eraser tool that allows for exact editing. This tool lets you easily remove parts of your annotations, even down to the smallest detail. This means you can erase specific portions of your notes or drawings one bit at a time, correcting mistakes or making precise adjustments easier.

Here’s what the entry says:

The new PDF annotation layout features a more intuitive design where all annotation tools are now conveniently located in a single row at the top of the screen. A new type of eraser has been added to allow for more precise editing which can remove annotations pixel by pixel.

The new layout and tools aim to make annotating PDFs simpler and more efficient, allowing you to work more smoothly and effectively.

It will be rolling out this month, on all platforms.

In other news, it seems that Microsoft is planning something big for OneDrive: new features for the platform will be unveiled at the Microsoft 365 Community Conference 2025 in May.
