Sony is preparing its next PlayStation Plus refresh, and April 2026 is shaping up to bring a mix of anime action and dark fantasy to subscribers.

Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream joins April lineup

According to reliable Dealabs insider billbil-kun, Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream will be part of the PlayStation Plus April 2026 lineup. The title joins the previously leaked headliner Lords of the Fallen, giving the month a strong mix of styles.

An official announcement is expected on April 1, with games becoming available for download starting April 7 for PlayStation Plus Essential members.

Anime focus expands PS Plus variety

Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream leans heavily into fan-favorite elements from the SAO universe, offering both single-player and multiplayer experiences.

The game features an original story that brings together characters from across different timelines, with a roster of 21 playable characters. On the multiplayer side, it includes large-scale boss raids with up to 20 players split into teams, cooperative quests with progressive encounters, and free-roam areas filled with bosses and loot.

This addition signals a broader push to diversify the PlayStation Plus catalog, especially for anime fans.

One more game is still unconfirmed

While two titles have now surfaced, the third PlayStation Plus Essential game for April 2026 remains unknown. Sony typically includes three monthly games, so another reveal is expected alongside the official announcement.

At the same time, Sony has confirmed that six games will leave the PlayStation Plus Extra catalog in April. This ongoing rotation continues to reshape the service’s library, balancing new additions with outgoing titles.

The update comes during a busy period for Sony, as the company also confirmed upcoming PlayStation 5 price increases despite earlier messaging suggesting stability.

With new games arriving and others leaving, April looks set to be another transitional month for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
