How to Reinstall Your Bluetooth Drivers in Windows 10 [7 Tested Ways]

How to reinstall Bluetooth drives in Windows 10

1. Use Device Manager

1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.

   

2. Type devmgmt.msc and click OK to open the Device Manager.
3. Locate and expand Bluetooth, right-click the driver, and choose Uninstall device.

   

4. Click Uninstall.

   

5. Go to Action and click Scan for hardware changes. Windows will download and install the appropriate version of the driver for your computer.

   

You can also restart your computer after the driver is uninstalled. Upon restart, Windows will reinstall the Bluetooth driver automatically.

2. Get the driver using Windows Update

1. Press the Windows key, type device manager, and click Open.

   

2. Expand Bluetooth, right-click the driver, and click Uninstall device.

   

3. Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.
4. Go to Update & Security.

   

5. Click the Check for updates button.
6. Click the View optional updates option.

   

7. Go to the Drivers tab and select any update available for the Bluetooth driver.
8. Now click Download & Install. Your computer may restart to complete the process, so save your work before it prompts you to restart.

3. Use HP Support Assistant

NOTE

This solution is dedicated to HP machine owners. Look for any similar tools for your manufacturer device or skip it otherwise.

1. Press the Windows key, type device manager, and click Open.

   

2. Expand Bluetooth, right-click the driver, and click Uninstall device.

   

3. Press the Windows key, type hp support assistant, and click Open.

   

4. Click Updates.

4. Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter

1. Press the Windows key, type device manager, and click Open.

   

2. Expand Bluetooth, right-click the driver, and click Uninstall device.

   

3. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
4. Go to Update & Security.

   

5. Click Troubleshoot, then select Additional troubleshooters.

   

6. Locate Bluetooth and click Run the troubleshooter.

   

7. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.

5. Download the driver from the computer manufacturer’s website

1. Press the Windows key, type device manager, and click Open.

   

2. Expand Bluetooth, right-click the driver, and click Uninstall device.

   

3. Go to the manufacturer’s website (in our example, the HP website) & go to Support, then click Software and drivers.

   

4. Select the device, Laptop, or Desktop.

   

5. Click Let HP detect your product.

   

6. Click Detect my drivers and a list of drivers available.

   

7. Go to Bluetooth, expand it, and click Download.

   

8. Click Yes on the UAC prompt.
9. Double-click the downloaded file. Click Next on the Intel Bluetooth driver wizard and follow the onscreen prompts to complete.

6. Download it from the Intel website

1. Press the Windows key, type device manager, and click Open.

   

2. Expand Bluetooth, right-click the driver, and click Uninstall device.

   

3. Go to the Intel website, and search for the device name.
4. You will get the list of available downloads, select the appropriate one, click View Details.

   

5. Click Download.

   

6. Click I agree the terms in the license agreement.

   

7. Click Yes on the UAC prompt.
8. Double-click the downloaded file on the Intel Bluetooth driver wizard and click Next.

   

9. Now follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.

7. Use the Microsoft Update Catalog website

7.1 Download the driver

1. Press the Windows key, type device manager, and click Open.

   

2. Expand Bluetooth, right-click the driver, and click Uninstall device.

   

3. Go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website.
4. In the search bar, type the driver’s name.
5. You will get a list of entries; look at their version and date of release, find the appropriate one, and click Download.

   

6. In a popup window, click on the link below the driver’s name.

   

7. Once it is downloaded, you can see a .cab file. You can double-click it to open, press Ctrl + A to select all the files, and click the Copy button.
8. Now go to Desktop, create a folder, and name it accordingly. Open the folder and paste the files into it.

   

9. Wait for the process to complete.

7.2 Reinstall the driver

1. Open Device Manager using Step 1 from the above solution.
2. Expand Bluetooth, right-click the driver, and click Update driver.

   

3. Click Browse my computer for drivers.

   

4. Now click Browse and find the folder you created.

   

5. Click Next and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
