Microsoft Teams Device settings hub is rolling out worldwide, replacing audio and video menus in Teams on the web. At the same time, Microsoft has completed the rollout of Copilot Prompts. Here’s what changes and when to expect it.

Microsoft overhauls Teams on the web with a new Device settings hub

Microsoft has completed the rollout of Copilot Prompts in Teams, but another major interface change is now arriving. According to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center (message ID MC1234663), the company is introducing a redesigned Device settings hub for Teams on the web.

The update replaces the current separate audio and video configuration menus with a single consolidated panel. Microsoft is deploying the change automatically to web users worldwide this month, including GCC, GCCH, and DoD environments. No administrative action is required.

A unified place for audio and video controls

The new Device settings hub sits under the standard Settings tab in Teams on the web. It centralizes hardware controls for speakers, microphones, and cameras in one location.

Users can now manage video-specific options, such as Mirror my video and Adjust brightness, directly within the same panel. The Test call feature also integrates into this interface, allowing users to verify audio configuration before joining meetings.

Microsoft says the redesign aims to create a more streamlined workflow for managing hardware settings during calls and meetings.

What businesses should prepare for

Although the update simplifies configuration, it changes the familiar navigation path. Employees used to the older layout will need time to adjust to the new structure.

Organizations may need to update internal documentation, training materials, and screenshots to reflect the revised settings location. IT support teams should expect an increase in navigation-related questions during the transition period.

Microsoft notes that the rollout will continue gradually through the end of the month.

The interface update follows a recent Teams outage that has since been resolved. Meanwhile, Microsoft also plans additional changes, including features designed to promote Microsoft Edge when opening certain files.
