nintendo switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 device will most likely be released in 2025, according to the latest reports, however, it seems that it might be a decent handheld.

In fact, according to the known AMD leaker, @Kepler_L2, who commented on another leaker’s X post (formerly known as Twitter), the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, which is most likely going to sport a T239 chip, is not even going to be on par with the current Xbox Series S, which is the less superior Xbox console.

The leaker also goes on to elaborate that even if Nintendo Switch 2 would still lose against the Xbox Series S, even if it were a SoC (System on a Chip) desktop device.

It’s worth mentioning that the current Xbox Series S will most probably get an upgraded version this year, called Ellewood, which sports a larger storage size and several other new capabilities, so the upgraded version would greatly outperform the upcoming handheld device, in this case.

However, details about the upcoming handheld still need to be revealed to see what exactly we are dealing with, before making such comparisons. But in the case, that it would sport a a T239 chip, it won’t have any chance against the Xbox Series S console.

Rumors say that Nintendo Switch 2 is already ready to be commercialized, but, apparently, the company wants to make sure it has enough devices in store ready to avoid unfortunate situations where devices can’t be found in stores, similar to what happened to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S, and X, last year.

Either way, for the fans of the console, comparing it to Xbox Series S has no relevance, considering the handheld will be in a league of its own, as it has always been, for that matter.
