Microsoft released the latest Edge Dev Channel update to 129.0.2792.10, and it’s pretty exciting stuff. The Redmond-based tech giant has just rolled out this update, and it’s packed with improvements that will make your browsing experience smoother.
First, they’ve added a handy ‘x’ button at the bottom of the sidebar. Plus, new toggles for launching the Edge Bar and setting it to auto-start are tucked away in the sidebar settings page.
Now, onto the fixes. If you have ever had your browser crash when you pinned a site pane or tried opening something in the sidebar, then you should know that they’ve resolved that issue. And for those who like to live on the edge with InPrivate or guest windows, you’ll be happy to know that closing the last tab won’t crash your browser anymore.
Did you activate Gamer Mode and find that the toggle didn’t sync? Microsoft fixed it this time. Notice that adding a favourite sometimes triggered a message even when you hadn’t entered any data? Also fixed. And for those who use screen readers, the experience got smoother with unnecessary extra information being cut out when expanding or collapsing items under ‘recently closed’.
Android and iOS users, you haven’t been forgotten. On Android, they’ve tackled issues with the ‘Earn more rewards’ link, annoying blank spaces at the bottom of webpages, and navigation hiccups when your history is empty.
iOS users will see improvements, too, like the ability to change appearance settings even when dark mode is on, better sharing and downloading of PDFs, and fixes for search box content overflow and the ‘Read Aloud’ function.
