During Microsoft Ignite in November, Microsoft announced that Storyline from Viva Engage will be implemented in Teams. Now, according to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap the rollout for this feature will start in February 2025.
The change will be available in Microsoft Teams on all platforms, including the desktop and Android mobile app.
Viva Engage Storyline was launched for general availability two years ago as a broadcasting communication tool for organizations.
Here’s how Microsoft describes its functionality across enterprise environments:
Leaders and their communications teams can share announcements and posts from leaders’ storylines that reach their target audiences across Teams and Outlook. When a leader sends an announcements, their determined audience will see it as a notification, with the ability to reach and engage virtually any size audience.
So, it’s a feature that establishes a broadcasting channel for the leaders and managers within your organization to make announcements and convey important, informal or formal information to selected Teams channels. The messages and post through Viva Engage can be pin-point targeted to any audience within the organization.
Viva Engage’s Storyline is available right not for Teams, but you need to install it separately. Beginning February, the app will be integrated in Microsoft Teams. You won’t have to do anything else to install it. Of course, it still requires the necessary configuration for channel access and workflows.
Microsoft also has announcements about the feature in the Viva Engage Blog, where they share the latest additions and how to use it.
