Windows 10 Recovery Environment

Microsoft recently rolled out a batch of Windows 10 updates, including KB5048239, KB5046911, KB5046912, KB5046913, KB5046914, KB5047135, and KB5046905.

According to Microsoft, the KB5048239 update automatically applies a Safe OS Dynamic Update (KB5046913) to the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) on a running PC. It is available for Windows 10 versions 21H2 and 22H2.

KB5046911, KB5046912, and KB5046913 are Safe OS Dynamic Updates for Windows 10 versions 1607, 1809, 21H2, and 22H2. They improve the Windows recovery environment. The KB5046914 update improves the recovery environment for the ancient Windows 10 version 1507.

Finally, KB5047135 and KB5046905 are Setup Dynamic Updates for Windows 10 versions 1809, 21H2, and 22H2. They improve Windows setup binaries or any files that setup uses for feature updates in Windows 10 Enterprise, version 1809, and Windows Server 2019, as well as Windows 10 versions 21H2 and 22H2.

The Recovery Environment updates for Windows 10 are being distributed via Windows Update and can be manually installed by downloading from the Microsoft Update Catalog, as follows:

Microsoft also released Windows 11 updates, including KB5046915, KB5046910, and KB5046906, which improve the OS’s setup and recovery experience.
