Windows App, the platform that lets users connect to Windows from all sorts of devices, is now generally available

As teased a while ago, Microsoft announced that the Windows app will be generally available for Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and web browsers starting today. The app is also in public preview for Android.

Windows App is a secure gateway to connect to Windows across Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Remote Desktop, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft Dev Box, and more.

According to the official announcement, the unified app is designed to help people connect to the Windows experience they know and love from any device. The platform also provides a unified experience that simplifies access to Windows services, like Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop, from a single app.

One of the key features of Windows App is multifactor authentication. This feature lets users securely connect to Windows resources and work remotely from any location.

The platform offers other capabilities as well. It provides enhanced security features and streamlined management for IT administrators. At the same time, end users can customize their experience with features like a customizable home screen, multi-monitor support, and USB redirection.

With it, users can access applications and files from the Start menu, local search, and more. It also supports device redirection, so users can print files, access local storage, and more.

The app is built on modern architecture and is tightly integrated with Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure to provide a fast and fluid experience.

Windows App is available from the Microsoft Store, the Apple App Store (for macOS and iOS), and Google Play (for Android). It can also be downloaded for Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android.
