How do I fix Microsoft Office not updating?

Before you begin this process, ensure your client’s computers have internet access and he is using a valid configuration package, the target computer meets all the requirements for installing the update, and restart your WSUS server.

1. Disable the firewall temporarily

1. Hit the Start menu icon, type Windows Security in the search bar, and click Open.
2. Click on Firewall & network protection, then select Public network.
3. Locate Microsoft Defender Firewall and toggle the off button.

2. Uninstall recent Windows updates

1. Hit the Windows key and select Settings.
2. Click on Windows Update and select Update history on the right pane.
3. Scroll down and under Related settings, click on Uninstall updates.
4. This will take you to the most recent installed updates.
5. Select the topmost update and click on Uninstall.
6. Restart your PC and check if the problem persists.

3. Repair SCCM client 

1. Hit the Windows key, type cmd in the search bar, and click Run as administrator.
2. Type in the following command to change the destination path: C:\Windows\CCM
3. Now, Enter the following command to begin the repair process: ccmrepair.exe
4. The repair may take a while, and once it has been successfully completed, the status will read as Done.

There are many reasons the SCCM client is not working properly. Most of the time, it is due to corruption on the client cache and log files. The repair option will attempt to fix these problems by cleaning up the SCCM client cache and rebuilding some of its components. 

4. Reinstall the SCCM client

1. Hit the Windows key, type cmd in the search bar, and click Run as administrator.
2. Type in the following command to uninstall the SCCM client: C:\Windows\CCMSetup\CCMSetup.exe /uninstall
3. Wait for the process to finish, then Enter the reinstallation command. Remember to replace XXX with the site code of your primary server: CCMSetup.exe SMSSITECODE=XXX
