windows 11 iphone file transfer

Windows Insiders have reason to celebrate: the Windows Insider Program Team has just announced that Windows 11 and Windows 10 users can now seamlessly transfer files between their PCs and iPhones.

This functionality is made possible through the Link to Windows app and Phone Link. If you don’t know how to pair your phone to your Windows PC through Phone Link, read this article.

To transfer files between your Windows 11 PC and iPhone, you’ll need to ensure that your iPhone is running iOS 16 or later and that your iPhone’s Link to Windows app is version 1.24112.73 or higher.

Additionally, you’ll need Phone Link version 1.24112.89.0 or higher installed on your PC.

In a blog post, Microsoft says this feature is currently rolling out to Windows Insiders, so you may not immediately see it. Still, once it’s available, you can check out the setup process at aka.ms/addAccount.

Once you’re set-up, sharing a file from your iPhone to your PC is as simple as navigating to the file, tapping the share icon, and selecting “Link to Windows.” To send a file from your PC to your iPhone, select the file, right-click, and choose “Share” > “My Phone.”
