Is Nintendo eShop not available in your region? This is a common error that many have experienced, and if you encounter it, you won’t be able to download any content. Luckily, there are ways to fix this issue.

Why can’t I access the Nintendo eShop?

Nintendo eShop isn’t available worldwide yet, so you can access it in certain regions.

What to do if the Nintendo eShop is not available in my country?

1. Update account region

  1. In a web browser, visit accounts.nintendo.com.
  2. Enter your credentials.nintendo account login
  3. Click the User Information tab and then click the Edit button next to Profile.nintendo account edit user information
  4. Under Country /region of residence, select a country where the Nintendo eShop is available, such as the United States.nintendo account change country/region of residence
  5. Save changes.
  6. Go back on your Nintendo Switch and try to open the eShop. You may have to clear the app’s cache or log back into your account for the changes to apply.

2. Change your device country in Nintendo Switch

  1. Using your Nintendo Switch, go to the Settings area.
  2. Select System > Select Region.
  3. Set your region to an eShop support area such as The Americas.

  4. Open Nintendo eShop.
  5. When asked to enter a region, set the United States.
  6. Go to Location Settings and click Change.
  7. Set a ZIP code from the US (e.g. 10026). You can find valid US ZIP codes here.
  8. Save changes and see if you can access the Nintendo eShop now.

3. Switch your location with a VPN

4. Create a new Nintendo account

  1. If none of the above options help you fix the region issue, go to the Nintendo website to sign up for a new account in a supported country.nintendo website login signup button

  3. Enter your details and pick a supported location as your region of residence, such as the United States.nintendo account country united states
  4. Verify your email address to complete the signup.nintendo verify email
  5. On your console, login using this new account and check if you can now access the Nintendo eShop.

Which region is Nintendo eShop available in?

Currently, Nintendo eShop is available in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and the United States, and most European countries.

While Nintendo eShop not available in region message appears for users in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia, it can also appear in any other country that isn’t on the list of supported regions.

If you haven’t managed to fix this issue, your only option would be to play Switch games offline.
