Automatic Gain Control Discord

Automatic gain control on Discord helps you maintain consistent microphone volume during voice chats. It automatically adjusts the input levels to prevent your voice from being too loud or quiet. However, some users may prefer more control over their audio settings or find that the feature doesn’t work well for their needs. Iโ€™ll show you how to disable it for better audio management.

Letโ€™s begin!

How To Disable Automatic Gain Control in Discord

You can disable AGC on your desktop or mobile device.

On Desktop

Follow the below steps:

  1. Open Discord, log into your account, and tap the settings gear beside your username.
Discord setting gear
  1. Scroll on the left panel and tap on Voice & Video.
Voice & Video
  1. Scroll the right panel to locate Automatic Gain Control, then toggle the button off.
Toggle off Automatic Gain Control

Thatโ€™s it! Simple, right?

On Mobile

Here are the steps:

  1. Open your Discord app and tap the smiley icon labelled “You” in the bottom right.

  1. Scroll down and click Voice.

  1. Scroll again to locate Automatic Gain Control under Voice Processing, then toggle it off.

The Automatic Gain Control Discord feature is useful for maintaining consistent audio levels but may not suit everyoneโ€™s preferences. Disabling AGC allows you to have more manual control over your microphone settings.
