Many are experiencing Avowed LowLevelFatalError which prevents them from launching the game. This can be a problem, but there might be a few ways to fix it.
How can I fix LowLevelFatalError in Avowed?
Before we try anything else, try launching the game several times and updating your GPU drivers. In some instances, you just need to leave your PC to restart and the game might start working.
1. Underclock your Intel CPU
- Download Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.
- Start the software.
- Lower the Performance Clock to 51x to 54x.
- Click on Apply.
This method works with 14900K, and 13900K, and other models, and is a common problem with Unreal Engine games. For more information on this tool, check our guide on how to overclock with Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.
2. Switch between DX11 and DX12
- Open Steam Library.
- Locate the game, right-click it, and select Properties.
- Next, go to the General tab and locate Launch options.
- Enter –dx11 or -dx12. Experiment with both values.
- Save changes and try to run the game.
3. Use Compatibility mode
- Locate the game shortcut, right-click it, and choose Properties.
- Navigate to the Compatibility tab.
- Check Run this software in compatibility mode for and set it to Windows 8.
- Check Run as administrator and Disable fullscreen optimizations.
- Save changes and try to start the game again.
This is an unusual workaround, but it might help you fix Avowed Fatal Error, so don’t miss it.
4. Try running the game from the WinGDK folder
- Navigate to
Avowed\Content\Alabama\Binaries\WinGDK
- Locate Avowed-WinGDK-Shipping.exe and run it.
- The game should now start.
Some users also reported that the game worked when using Nvidia App to launch it.
5. Delete the Saved folder
- Press Windows key + R and enter %localappdata%.
- Next, navigate to the Alabama folder.
- Delete the Saved folder inside it.
6. Adjust your graphics settings
- In the Nvidia Control Panel, adjust the Shader render cache setting. Changing it to a different value can help.
- Set your graphics settings to Low in the game and disable upscaling.
- Disable NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency.
These are just some solutions that can help you fix the Avowed LowLevelFatalError on your PC. Keep in mind that if you’re using a non-English version of Windows, you need to ensure that the path to the game doesn’t have any non-standard English characters.
This isn’t the only game that is having this issue, and we have an entire guide dedicated to Low Level Fatal Error in games, so don’t miss it.
Avowed is having other issues as well, and we recently covered the Unpacking error in Avowed, so don’t miss it. While some gamers can’t install the game, for others Avowed is not working at all, however, this can be fixed.
Many also reported that Avowed keeps crashing, but we have a guide addressing that as well.
