Copilot for Microsoft 365 is now available to all businesses, large, medium, or small. Back in November 2023, when Microsoft released Copilot for Microsoft 365, the Redmond-based tech giant decided to release the AI tool only to large companies through a Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 enterprise plan for a $30/month subscription.
However, today, Microsoft decided to change the plan: all businesses, both big and small, will have access to Copilot for Microsoft 365, and companies won’t have to abide by the 300 minimum seat rule anymore. This means Copilot for Microsoft 365 can be integrated into a business run by a single person.
The subscription will cost $30/month, and the AI tool will be integrated into all Office apps: so businesses working with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, and so on, will instantly have access to Copilot within these platforms.
How can Copilot for Microsoft 365 elevate a small business?
As you might know, Copilot for Microsoft 365 is quite versatile: the AI tool will be virtually present in all Microsoft 365 apps, as we mentioned earlier, including platforms such as OneDrive, as well.
When used properly, Copilot can elevate a business to another level, and Microsoft has the studies to prove it: a study, commissioned by Microsoft, and released earlier last year, showed that startups and small companies could greatly benefit from AI investments, with 47% of small business owners say AI is a game changer and a valuable asset to their company.
Another study, also condoned by Microsoft, shows that investing $1 into AI generates a return of $3.5X. AI could become a valuable and even profitable asset to a company in less than 2 years and it would end up generating almost 4 times the budget spent on investing in it.
For a small business, such as a startup, AI would not only be a game changer, but a life changer, as well, as it could easily be used to generate profit in a short amount of time and scale it up to international markets.
The change of plans is part of the newly announced Copilot Pro, which is a new Copilot model based on the existing model but with far more advanced capabilities. Small businesses can also use Copilot Pro, in case they don’t want to opt for Copilot for Microsoft 365.
This Copilot will debut Copilot GPT Builder, which will allow smaller companies to create their own Copilots, customized and personalized for the business’s needs.
