The problem appears in different scenarios, but based on our experience and forum reports, it’s usually the app to blame. Check out some of the most common reasons why Corel VideoStudio is not opening:

  • Issues with program files or app data
  • Missing or corrupt DLLs
  • Problems with the Visual C++ Redistributable packages
  • Recent Windows updates conflict with the program
  • The app installation didn’t go through properly

What can I do if Corel VideoStudio won’t open?

Before we start with the slightly complex solutions, try these quick ones:

If none work, head to the fixes listed below.

1. Rename the uvDV.dll file

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Identify all VideoStudio processes, select them individually, and click on End task.end task
  3. Press Windows + E to open File Explorer, navigate the following path or paste it in the address bar and hit Enter: C:\Program Files\Corelpath
  4. Double-click on the folder with the same name as the installed program version.Corel VideoStudio

  6. Now, name it uvDV-old.dll.rename to fix corel videostudio won't open
  7. Finally, relaunch the program and verify whether Corel VideoStudio is still not opening.

2. Replace the corrupt or missing DLLs

There are also cases when a missing or corrupt DLL is the reason Corel VideoStudio won’t open in Windows 11. Here, you will have to get a fresh copy of the DLL and paste it into the program’s folder or the System32 folder. For Coral VideoStudio 2023, it’s: C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2023

Based on our research, the following DLLs could be the problem:

In the program’s folder:

  • MUIHelper.dll
  • iEncoder.dll

In the System32 folder:

  • jscript9.dll
  • MSVCP110.dll (System32)

Also, you could check the error logs and identify the problematic DLL in your case. Open the log that relates to the Corel VideoStudio crash and verify what’s listed next to Faulting module name.

3. Repair the Visual C++ Redistributables
