DDR5 RAM Prices Pause in Germany Despite Global DRAM Cost Surge

While analysts continue to project soaring DRAM prices driven by AI and data-center demand, retail DDR5 memory pricing has shown an unexpected pause in Germany.

According to data shared by 3DCenter, DDR5 prices at German retailers have largely stopped rising over the past several days. The figures rely on “cheapest available” listings tracked via Geizhals, one of the region’s largest price comparison platforms.

DDR5 RAM prices stabilize in the German retail market

Across a basket of 20 common DDR5 memory products, the average price sits just 0.1% higher than it did in mid-January. That marks a clear slowdown after sharp increases seen in late 2025 and early January 2026.

Individual DDR5 kits still fluctuate, but the broader trend points to short-term stabilization. Several mainstream capacities and speed tiers now sell at flat or slightly lower prices compared to mid-January levels. For the first time in weeks, small price drops have appeared on select SKUs, even as minor increases persist elsewhere.

This pause does not confirm a peak for DDR5 pricing. Supply-side pressure remains strong, and contract pricing often lags behind spot market changes. Any renewed increases at the supplier level could still reach retail shelves later.

Recent memory price pressure has focused more heavily on DDR4, which saw sharper hikes due to sustained demand. DDR5 appears to be taking a brief breather, at least in Germany.

Memory is not the only hardware segment under strain. Graphics card pricing continues to climb as well, with RTX 5070 Ti models surging at U.S. retailers, adding further pressure for PC builders.
