Good Old Games has always been a trustworthy digital distribution platform, and many gamers fell in loc with their design, DRM-free policies, incredible discounts, and more.
Well, their desktop client called GOG Galaxy has been through many changes since its inception, and their most recent iteration, GOG Galaxy 2.0, has been an immense success.
Of course, this tool is primarily a gaming library, but also a means to buy other games from their catalog, which makes it very similar to other similar tools, such as:

A while ago, GOG Galaxy 2.0 included the ability to bring all of your libraries into the same window, so you wouldn’t have to stay with a lot of clients opened just to see what games you own.
Well, this was taken a step further today, since GOG representatives just announced that you can use GOG Galaxy to buy Epic games-exclusive titles as well.
However, the most interesting part is that they will be applying their world-famous refund policy to these titles as well:

User feedback to this news was mixed. On one hand, some are concerned that the Epic Games titles will not be DRM-free like the ones from GOG‘s own catalog.
Gotta say, this feels like a step backward. I’m all for the single launcher life but GOG sells itself on being DRM free.
By adding the Epic launcher and running it in the background while playing EGS games, you’re enabling their DRM. Kinda hoping there’s something I’m missing here because otherwise this feels like the first step down the wrong path.
This in turn could hint that they may have been referring to the titles that are DRM-free there as well.
All in all, this change is great news for those that like the idea of having a unified gaming library, and more platform integrations will be expected in the future.
