KB5077241 Now Officially Available With New Emoji, Sysmon Integration, and Secure Boot Updates
We wrote about KB5077241 extensively in the past, and we’re happy to inform you that the update has moved from the Release Channel and is now officially available to all eligible users.
This broader rollout means the update has cleared testing phases and is ready for wider deployment across supported Windows 11 systems. Users can now manually install it as an optional update, gaining access to new features, performance improvements, and important security enhancements ahead of its inclusion in a future cumulative release.

New Features That Are Gradually Rolling Out
- Emoji 16.0 adds a new set of emojis across major categories to the emoji panel.
- First sign-in restore is now part of Windows Backup for Organizations for Entra hybrid joined devices, Cloud PCs, and multi-user environments.
- Quick Machine Recovery (QMR) is now automatically on non-domain-joined, unmanaged Windows Pro devices.
- A built-in network speed test is available from the taskbar via Quick Settings or the system tray network icon.
- A new account menu entry in Start links to the Microsoft account benefits page.
- Camera pan and tilt controls are now available in Settings for supported cameras.
- Sysmon functionality is now built natively into Windows for system event monitoring and threat detection.
- Widget Settings now open as a full-page experience in the Widgets app.
- Support for setting .webp files as desktop backgrounds has been added.
- RSAT support is now available on Windows 11 Arm64 devices as an optional feature.

File Explorer Changes
- Added “Extract all” option in the command bar when browsing non-ZIP archive folders.
- Fixed issue where Shift-clicking or middle-clicking the File Explorer taskbar icon could reopen the current instance instead of a new one.
Reliability Fixes & Miscellaneous
- Improved reliability of the project pane display.
- Fixed small visual issues with taskbar autohide, Windows Security credential pop-ups, and the print dialog.
Security & System Changes (Rolling to All Users)
- Secure Boot updates now include high-confidence device targeting data for phased certificate rollout.
- Devices receive new Secure Boot certificates only after sufficient successful update signals.
- BitLocker reliability improved to prevent system freezes after entering the recovery key.
KB5077241 remains an optional update and can be installed via Settings > Windows Update or through the Microsoft Update Catalog.
