In the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), it’s imperative to leverage the technology to boost the organization’s security infrastructure and fight against human-generated ransomware. Microsoft Security Copilot does just that!
Presently in Early Access and available on an invite-only basis, Microsoft Security Copilot is amongst the latest AI-based products from the Redmond-based tech giant.
In its latest blog post, Microsoft highlights how Copilot for Security introduces new tools to help the SecOps team protect the data and, in case of an attack, give the much-needed advantage to eliminate the threat and limit the extent of damage.
How does Microsoft Security Copilot help eliminate threats?
Copilot for Security, when coupled with Microsoft Defender XDR, delivers enhanced protection and can help pinpoint threats, identify the affected devices, and take the necessary action.
In the blog post, Microsoft explains how the two would act in the case a human-operated ransomware attack is detected on devices.
- Quickly assess the attack: With AI-backed tools, administrators will be able to swiftly identify the type and extent of the attack, saving precious time.
- Simplifies the scripts: If the attack employs PowerShell scripts, Copilot for Security will, in simple terms, break down what’s going on in the background to help administrators prioritize things and form a relevant plan of action.
- Gives more power: Lastly, Copilot allows quick translation from natural language to Kusto Query Language, gives security analysts information about the source of the threat, and lets them quickly deploy fixes company-wide.
Microsoft Secure is also holding an event on March 13, 2024, where experts in the field will discuss the different ways Copilot for Security can augment the security infrastructure through demos.
Microsoft is pushing for AI-backed advanced protection, and it’s the right step. To combat critical attacks, especially human-operated ransomware, leveraging Copilot for Security will give you the edge!
