Microsoft Stream live events to be retired on January 31, 2024. Here's what you need to do

Bad news for those who use Microsoft Stream to host live events. They will be retired effectively on January 31, 2024, leaving commercial customers, such as companies, little more than a month to prepare for it.
The Redmond-based tech giant first announced the retirement of this feature, right at the beginning of 2023, so there has been more than enough time to prepare for it.
However, if that’s not the case, then Microsoft says Teams live events and town halls in Teams will become the new home for those using Stream to host live events.
Microsoft announced Teams 2.0, the new version of Teams, a couple of months ago, and the platform has new capabilities, including the Copilot AI. Plus, a few tweaks for Teams meetings, such as the Live Meeting Status feature are also useful.
On the other hand, Microsoft recently made some changes to town halls to support virtual meetings with over 20k attendants, so this capability will be useful to those used to hosting live events on Microsoft Stream.
Teams live events and town halls in Microsoft Teams are the replacement services to Stream live events. Teams live events and town halls allow you to create, host and produce large-scale events with similar functionality to Stream. They also support Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) input, which lets you create highly polished events that feature combined live streams, screen overlays, on-screen data and more.

Users will have to transition to Teams live events, or town halls to continue hosting live events as they used to do in Microsoft Stream.
It’s worth mentioning that all Microsoft Stream live events scheduled after January 31, will have to be rescheduled as soon as possible, as Microsoft will automatically remove them beyond that date.
