New Windows Insider Experimental Build Fixes Microsoft Account Sign-In Bug
Microsoft has published new release notes for the Canary 29500 Series Channel as the company continues transitioning Windows Insider channels toward the new Experimental (Future Platforms) branding.
The latest update focuses mostly on platform-level changes, bug fixes, and infrastructure improvements tied to Microsoft’s active Windows development branches. These builds are considered very early preview releases and are not connected to any specific upcoming Windows version.
Microsoft Fixes Incorrect Internet Connection Error
One of the main fixes in this release addresses a confusing Microsoft account sign-in issue affecting some Insiders.
Microsoft says certain users saw an incorrect warning claiming the device was not connected to the internet while signing into Microsoft accounts inside some apps. The problem appeared even though the PC had an active internet connection.
The company has now resolved the issue in the latest Experimental build.
Affected users could encounter fake offline connection warnings, failed sign-in attempts, Microsoft account authentication issues in apps, and incorrect network detection messages. The issue mainly affected account-related experiences inside Windows apps.
Task Manager CPU Speed Reporting Improved
Microsoft also fixed a virtualization-related Task Manager issue.
The company says Task Manager could incorrectly display unusually high CPU speeds for virtual machines after resuming from hibernation. The bug affected the CPU Performance page inside Task Manager.
The latest Experimental build now reports CPU speed more accurately for affected virtual machine environments.
Microsoft Blocks Some AMD Systems From Receiving the Build
Microsoft also acknowledged a new known issue involving certain AMD-powered systems.
According to the company, some AMD devices that support System Guard may crash after installing the latest Experimental build. Because of the issue, Microsoft is temporarily blocking affected systems from receiving this week’s release.
The company has not yet shared which exact AMD processors or configurations are impacted.
Alongside this Experimental release, Microsoft also published a new Windows 11 Beta build, another Experimental build, and a separate Experimental 26H1 build.
The company continues accelerating Insider testing across multiple development branches as work on future Windows platform updates moves forward.
