Here's When the Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Could Release, New Trailer Expected Soon

Nintendo is literally mum regarding The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake lately. But it has been making some quite changes behind and scenes, and as expected eagle-eyed fans often don’t let it go unnoticed.

A new rating points to steady progress

Nintendo has recently updated the game’s official product page to include an ESRB E10+ rating (via GamingBible). While that may sound like a routine change, age ratings usually come once publishers are preparing a game for the final stretch before release.

The remake was officially announced during June’s Nintendo Direct with a 2026 release window for Nintendo Switch 2. Since then, Nintendo has shared very little about the project, making every new development worth watching.

That said, an ESRB rating doesn’t confirm a release date. Nintendo has also not published the game’s full rating summary yet, suggesting there are still more details to come before launch.

The next reveal may not be far away

With Gamescom 2026 scheduled next month and Tokyo Game Show following shortly after, Nintendo has multiple opportunities to show the remake again. Many fans now expect a fresh trailer or gameplay presentation before the holiday season. Speaking of the holidays, Nintendo usually saves one of its biggest first-party releases for November. That’s where the speculation becomes interesting.

If Nintendo sticks with that pattern, Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake could launch around the same time as GTA 6, which remains scheduled for November 19. Neither company has indicated they plan to avoid the other, although Nintendo has yet to announce Zelda’s exact release date. Not to forget, there have been rumors regarding its pre-order date earlier this month.

Will Nintendo take a chance to come head-to-head with the mindboggling hype of GTA 6? There’s no answer to it, though. Several other big releases have been moved forward or even pushed due to the GTA 6 hype. The November calendar looks almost blank. It’ll be interesting to see Nintendo’s move.
