Battlefield 6 Poised to Overtake Black Ops 7 in U.S. Sales
EA’s Battlefield 6 is turning out to be the biggest game of 2025 in the United States, at least according to Circana’s November report that dropped earlier today. Per the report, the title is now “extremely likely” to finish the year as the top-selling game by dollar sales (via IGN). This comes despite Black Ops 7 strong launch.
In the Circana’s latest report, Black Ops 7 grabs the seventh best-selling game year-to-date. Meawhile, Battlefield 6 currently holds the top spot, followed by NBA 2K26 and Monster Hunter Wilds. Borderlands 4, EA Sports College Football 26, and Madden NFL 26 also sit ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
Circana also reports a double-digit decline in Call of Duty franchise sales compared to November last year. Black Ops 7 sold less during its launch window than Black Ops 6 did in the same period. Activision has already acknowledged the softer performance.
Black Ops 7 faces a rather unique hurdle despite launching day one on Xbox Game Pass. Not to forget, after a massive baclash, Activision announced to roll out free trial, which is now live through December 22. So, if you still have doubts, this is your chsnce to try Black Ops 7 right now.
This would not be the first time Call of Duty loses its annual crown. Hogwarts Legacy pulled it off in 2023. Before that, only some popular titles like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 managed to achiveve that feat.
All that said, November 2025 was a weak month for the entire gaming industry. Hardware and physical software sales hit their lowest November levels since 1995. However, if the current trend hold Battlefield 6 may end the year on top.
